Dermorphin

Dermorphin is examined as a highly selective ligand for the μ-opioid receptor (MOR). It attracts interest because of its distinctive molecular structure and strong receptor-binding properties.

One of its notable characteristics is the presence of a D-amino acid (D-alanine) within its peptide sequence, a feature rarely found in vertebrates.
