SS-31

SS-31, also known as Elamipretide, is a synthetic aromatic-cationic tetrapeptide with the sequence D-Arg-dimethylTyr-Lys-Phe-NH2. It selectively targets the inner mitochondrial membrane by binding cardiolipin, where it helps preserve mitochondrial structure and function during cellular stress.

In preclinical studies, SS-31 has been shown to improve mitochondrial bioenergetics, reduce mitochondrial oxidative stress, stabilize mitochondrial membrane architecture, and support cellular energy metabolism.
