Pinealon

In preclinical research, Pinealon has been investigated for its potential effects on neuronal survival, cellular responses to oxidative stress, and molecular mechanisms involved in nervous system biology. Proposed mechanisms suggest that short bioregulatory peptides may influence gene expression through interactions with chromatin and other regulatory pathways. However, these mechanisms remain under investigation and have not been conclusively established.

Current areas of preclinical research include:

• Investigated in experimental models of age-related neurological changes to better understand its potential effects on neuronal function and cellular regulation during aging.
• Influence on gene expression and other peptide-mediated regulatory processes in neural cells, although these proposed mechanisms require further validation.

Pinealon is a member of a family of short bioregulatory peptides developed through the research program led by Professor Vladimir Khavinson and colleagues at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology.
