Preclinical studies have also associated PTD-DBM treatment with increased expression of type I collagen, α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA), and endothelin-1. Consequently, PTD-DBM has been investigated in laboratory studies of skin wound healing, hair follicle regeneration, and androgenetic alopecia.
